Are you quite amazed about whats going on there in the picture. hmmm.. nothing much, its all about the lecturers. Hear what, the lecturers are on a strike!!! well, the reason is that they need hike in the salary that is being given for their valuation. hmmm, there's nothing wrong with it, right..? but, the real thing comes only after valuation.

But, after valuation, there was nothing good for all the students. Well, there was only 49.83% of students passed this year. The reason is being searched. The colleges that got zero percent results is being tried to improve. Some principals are being suspended. Many steps are being taken towards the improvement of 2nd PU students. but, who cares about others things. the whole thing including valuation, photocopy, withdraw, revaluation and re-totaling procedures is worst in the PU department in Karnataka. This has been the worst procedure of handling students and their valuable answers, that i have ever seen.

Well, i know, you might be wondering about the mistakes that has been done by those people standing above and some sitting in the office and enjoying. here, it is, I am gonna open up the hidden truths which is leading to stress in students. If you want to know about how much stress it is. Read this Article.

k, now i am gonna show the point by point mistakes that is being done every year by the lectures and the PU board.

1. There is no paper which is being valued by valuators are error-free

Yes, that is the truth which is agreed by the PU board itself. They say, when it is manually corrected by lecturers, they'll be at least of some errors as It is not a computer correction. When, one mark is deciding the fate of students, their ranking, donation, eligibility, pass, etc. Is it good to give an excuse like that by the PU board.

2. Every Student has to spend A valuable amount of Rs.420 per each subject in order to check whether the lecturer has done wrong or not.

Yes, its a fact. when the PU board agrees that their valuators are not error-free, Why don't they distribute the photo copy of the answer sheets to everyone for free and let them check the mistakes the valuators has done. Why do they need that large amount of Rs.420/- if the maximum charge that costs for xerox and express parcel post(epp) together is RS.100/-

3. Is Rs.420/- really worth for students

ok, fine, students are ready to spend an amount Rs.420/- But, are they getting worth of their money. Does the PU board sending the photocopies at the right time..? I must say no to this, because many of the students who applied for photocopies got their photocopies after the last date for the submission of revaluation application (25/05/11). you don't believe it, right..? wait, i'm gonna show you the proof.

This is the picture of 2 Envelopes that has been used to deliver the photo copies to students. According to the seal of the postal department there, it shows that it has been delivered on 26/05/11 which is one day after the last date for submission of revaluation application.

That proof is enough for you.. right..? If the PU board is not delivering the right things at the right time, how can a student go for revaluation. If this is the case, the students are unable to get marks they have missed. how, frustrating it will be for you when, u apply for photocopy of your answer script, u feel that, u have got some marks. but, still you are unable to get those marks.

k, alright.. But, that is not the only problem for the students who have applied for the photo copy of their answer scripts. They are not getting their answer scripts correctly, some are torn, some are missing, some are not available due to the inefficiency of their xerox machine, etc. here is the proof, again..!!

In the Left of your screen, you are able to see 2 pictures.

In first picture, you can see the inefficiency of the xerox machine of the PU board.

In the second picture, you can see an article in which it describes that when the student who got second rank in engineering applied for the photocopy of the answer script, 2 of his papers were missing. It is highlighted in that picture. Even though it was brought immediately into the notice of the officials, they didn't care.

What to do..? they are born to do mistakes. On the above picture, its Deepak R of Sadvidya composite PU college, who got second rank in engineering. But, he was the second topper of their college due to less marks in English. But, even though few of the papers were missing from his answer script, he applied for revaluation and got 12 additional marks to become the college topper. k, lets move on to our next topic. But, hold on we still have lots of things to expose.

4. Valuators are meant to do it with errors..!!

Yes, its true.. As said in the statement 1, There is no papers which has been error free. It seems like valuators are following the old method of giving the marks only when it is as same as in their scheme of valuation. Due to this method, most of the students are losing marks just because they are trying to produce accurate results in their problems. here, are the examples.. look at it.

In this paper,  the student tried to get the accurate answer using 4 digit decimals. But, the valuator needs the answer to be just 6 x 10^7 which must be given in the scheme of valuation. So, he deducts one marks there.

They have again deducted marks for being accurate.

K, fine. I will agree that they have followed some rules and deducted marks for  not getting the answer as in the scheme of valuation. But, what if they cut marks not for doing anything wrong, or having got confused, etc. In languages, its a common issue that, they will reduce marks even though if all the points are written. But, do you know..? When the English lecturer is valuating the core subject papers, it all happens.. Let me show you some examples of a language teacher valuating the papers of core subject.

unnecessary 2 marks has been deducted even though, the answer is perfectly right...!!!

Here also the same, can't detect why they have deducted the marks.. They have encircled the unit meter, but there's nothing wrong in that unit too...

Here also, some language lecturer might be valued this paper, who couldn't guess the change of sign in the next step.

Here, you saw few of the papers in which marks have been detected reason less. But, the above mentioned cases are not the only cases in which valuators are doing errors. There are so many other case like considering the answer in which the student had got full marks as an extra question and the other question in which student got less marks to be the normal one.

Any how, I still have lots of proofs to expand this 4th statement. But, I feel that the examples That i Have given here are fair enough to know that how harassing is the valuator to students.

5. Students can't go for re-valuation or re-totaling even though they would have got difference in their marks.

I have so many points to defend this statement too.

  i. The Students can only apply for re-valuation if they had got a difference of less than 6 marks in the subject for which he is applying for revaluation.

This has been the worst method ever followed by the PU method since it has been established. The PU board doesn't know that most of the student depend so heavily on the 1 mark. Some of the students get failed for 1 mark, Some of them miss eligibility in engineering, medical or architecture courses. Some of them miss the good ranking. But, There is no justice in not considering the value for 1 mark.

ii. Students are afraid that they could also loose marks in re-valuation

Yes, Even when students, get 6 or more marks difference in their answer paper, they are afraid that they would lose 1 or 2 marks in revaluation. When this happens, the marks are not considered again as it gets below 6 marks. The Karnataka PU board Must learn some of the rules from the neighbor states, where the students are able to apply for "Improvement" instead of "re-valuation" in which the greater marks are considered whether it is after or before re-valuation.

Remember: There is no further application of revaluation, when it has been valued for the second time. Who knows, whether they make mistakes in that too or not.

iii. Students gets nothing, even their huge amount of money if they get below 6 marks.

Yes, They have to think 100 times before applying for re-valuation, because, Marks are not the only things that plays the vital role, money also play its role. Because, to go for re-valuation, the student needs an huge amount of Rs.1050/- and Rs.280 for re-totaling. Don't know why the department is hiking the money year by year.. Many of the people are angry on this hike, even NSUI which staged a protest in shimoga. But, who cares for all these, not even education minister and not even the PU board.

iv. They are not sure whether they have missed marks or not

To make assurance of whether they have missed marks due to errors in revaluation. But, when things like the one which has shown in Statement2 and statement3, They are unable to check their errors. Of course, valuators do errors in most of the papers. But, they might have also given additional marks due to their errors which will be lost during revaluation. The things mentioned in statement 3 are that the photo copies, are not being delivered at the right time. If, delivered, most of them will be torn, missed or vanished, etc.

k,  guys , i feel that, so far my article would have had a good impact on you and you would be willing to stage a protest against PU board in front of their office. But, to make sure that we'll have a protest on one fine day, I am introducing a new cause in facebook named "2nd PUC valuation scam". Join, Invite your  friends, ask new friends, post in the cause, etc. Lets fight for it together.
